GeoPark believes in the power of dialogue to strengthen our commitment to sustainability and good neighborliness, and in line with this conviction we invite you to listen to a conversation between Juanita de la Hoz Herrera, Director of Responsible Business Conduct at the Ideas for Peace Foundation (FIP) and Maria Luisa Villa, our Sustainability Leader.
At GeoPark, people’s safety, environmental protection and responsible operations are priorities. After an incident at the Tigana Sur platform on the morning of February 7, we have meticulously inspected, controlled and cleaned the area.
We report the occurrence of an incident this morning on the Tigana Sur platform in the Llanos 34 Block. There was no impact on people or bodies of water, and there was no damage to facilities in the block.
We categorically reject the stigmatization of community members in Villanueva and accusations made against them, as well as any insinuation attempting to connect us to threats against social leaders and human rights defenders.
We want to be the preferred neighbor and partner, based on a sustainable relationship of learning, exchange and mutual benefit with the local communities where we operate.
