GeoPark has developed the Land of Opportunities program since 2019 with Colombian regional development bank Findeter to promote economic growth in both municipalities.

GeoPark has been working together with local authorities in Colombia’s Putumayo department to protect the most vulnerable of its neighboring communities in a spell of harsh winter weather that has caused a social emergency.

The program will teach communication tools, art, literature and other subjects to develop the interpersonal skills of 30 youngsters between the ages of 12 and 17 from the Niños de María Foundation.

To continue to support teaching and better futures for children in the communities neighboring the Llanos 34 block, GeoPark has donated study kits benefitting 1,487 children from rural and urban public schools in Villanueva and Tauramena.

To contribute to the Colombian government’s national vaccination plan and protect the health of the people of Puerto Asis, La nueva Amerisur supported the implementation of a pilot vaccination plan by the local Mayor’s Office that aims to administer 8,000 vaccines in five days.

Since the public health emergency started GeoPark has worked hand in hand with local institutions in Casanare to contribute to the health and wellbeing of our neighbors.

We want to be the preferred neighbor and partner, based on a sustainable relationship of learning, exchange and mutual benefit with the local communities where we operate.
